HLSG Invests in Company, Workforce Future

Linen services provider makes acquisition, moves to new HQ, opens new Indiana facility

ST. CHARLES, Ill. — Healthcare Linen Services Group (HLSG), a provider of linen management services to the healthcare and hospitality industries headquartered here, reports that it has made significant investments in the company’s future.

In September and October, HLSG acquired Reino Linen Services, moved to a new headquarters building and opened a laundry facility in Indiana.

THIRD ACQUISITION OF 2022

In early October, HLSG reported that it acquired Reino Linen Services, a provider of healthcare linen solutions.

The company says the acquisition expands its operations into the Ohio and Michigan markets, expanding its customer base and adding automated facilities that provide additional capacity to its existing footprint throughout the Midwest.

“Reino, our third acquisition in 2022 following the strategic investment from York Private Equity, has built a solid business and will add significant expertise in Ohio and Michigan, we look forward to maintaining Reino’s rich legacy of providing exceptional service to customers and employees,” says Joseph LaPorta, CEO of HLSG.

“We are thrilled to be joining the HLSG family, which has developed an outstanding reputation in the industry for its commitment to providing high-quality services,” says Daniel Darr, president of Reino.

“Importantly, HLSG shares our commitment to ensuring the long-term success of our customers and valued employees, and they are the right partner for Reino.”

Following this transaction, HLSG now operates 14 state-of-the-art processing plants across five premier regional brands—Logan’s Linens and Logan’s Uniform Rental (Shelbyville, Kentucky), Superior Health Linens (Cudahy, Wisconsin), Textile Care Services (Rochester, Minnesota), and now Reino (Gibsonburg, Ohio)—that process 250 million pounds of healthcare linen on an annual basis for over 500 customers in 14 states.

NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

On Oct. 1, HLSG says that it relocated to its new corporate headquarters.

The facility has been designed to allow additional space to support HLSG’s expansive growth plans and will also house corporate services, sales and a new employee training center that supports HLSG’s Linen Technical Institute.

“This new facility represents a substantial investment in the future of our company and development of our workforce,” LaPorta says.

NEW LAUNDRY FACILITY

In September, HLSG celebrated the Grand Opening of a new 65,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art laundry facility in Portage, Indiana.

This is HLSG’s 11th plant to service the Midwest Region. The company says the fully automated plant brings additional capacity to the Illinois, Indiana and Michigan markets.

“This facility will be additive to the other six Superior Health linen facilities already in operation in both Illinois and Wisconsin,” LaPorta says. “We are honored to expand into the state of Indiana and become part of the community.”

The plant welcomed many attendees to the celebratory opening to include customers, vendors and several representatives from the Portage Chamber of Commerce. All enjoyed plant tours, meet and greets with key executives, and great food.
