The Sterling Group Acquires Healthcare Linen Services Group

HLSG to accelerate growth with firm’s industrial expertise, operational improvement focus

ST. CHARLES, Ill. — Healthcare Linen Services Group (HLSG) reports that private equity firm The Sterling Group has acquired the provider of healthcare laundry and linen management services from York Capital.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

HLSG plans to accelerate organic and inorganic growth in this next chapter by combining its strong platform and leadership team with Sterling’s industrial expertise and operational improvement focus.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in this west Chicago suburb, HLSG provides laundry and rental services to a diversified base of customers, including hospitals and other healthcare providers. The company operates 23 facilities across 13 states, primarily located in the Midwest and Central U.S.

Through its six regional brands, the company partners locally with administrators, clinicians, and staff to deliver a wide variety of clean linens to thousands of healthcare facilities.

Over the last 15-plus years, HLSG has successfully executed and integrated multiple acquisitions, augmenting the combined platform’s footprint, capacity, and redundancy. Through HLSG’s local operating model, the company seeks to retain local brands, management, and employees after acquisitions are completed.

HLSG has also made significant investments in operational infrastructure and people. The company has implemented an advanced suite of technology systems, facility updates, and equipment, in addition to expanding its operations and sales teams to capitalize on organic growth opportunities.
