In February, Crothall Laundry Services, a provider of outsourced laundry and linen management services to the healthcare and hospitality sectors based in Huntersville, North Carolina, rebranded to Core Linen Services.

1. 2 Dead, 3 Wounded in Shooting at Pa. Linen Operation

The top story of 2024 on AmericanLaundryNews.com was the tragic laundry operation shooting in May. Two employees of Delaware County Linen in Chester, Pennsylvania, died and three others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a morning workplace shooting.

A “disgruntled employee” brought a handgun to the laundry in this suburb west-southwest of Philadelphia and “took out his anger” on co-workers, Delaware County (Pa.) District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer announced during a media briefing.

The suspect, later identified as Wilbert Rosado-Ruiz, was arrested in the nearby city of Trainer when police executed a traffic stop after receiving a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Rosado-Ruiz was charged with two counts of homicide, multiple counts of aggravated assault, firearm violations and related crimes in connection with the shooting. He was scheduled for formal arraignment in August.
