Prudential Completes Third Solar Project

System expected to generate 300,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year

IRVINE, Calif. — Business uniforms and textiles provider Prudential Overall Supply has completed its third solar project, installed at its Vista, California, industrial facility.

The 284 solar-panel system is sized for 168 kilowatts and expected to generate 300,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. This will allow the plant to receive 35% of its energy needs through the system.

This represents 200 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent greenhouse gas emissions savings per year.

With Vista’s solar-panel system, Prudential says it is now producing approximately 1,200 kWh of clean energy per year across three installed systems.

The company says two more systems will come online by the end of the year.

Prudential was the first major industrial laundry chain worldwide to earn TRSA Clean Green certification. This means it meets quality standards for effectiveness in conserving resources and minimizing environmental impact.
