Three Laundries Make ‘Best Companies to Sell For’ List

UniFirst, Cintas, Prudential Overall Supply scored high in Selling Power's five categories for 2024

CHICAGO — UniFirst Corp., Cintas Corp. and Prudential Overall Supply have been recognized by Selling Power among the United States’ 60 “Best Companies to Sell For” in 2024.

“As companies are dealing with the AI (artificial intelligence) revolution while facing an uncertain economy, recruiting and retaining the top sales talent is critical for success,” says Gerhard Gschwandtner, founder and CEO of Selling Power.

“The 'Best Companies to Sell For' have mastered the alignment of people, processes, and technologies and have created sales organizations that excel in hiring, onboarding, training and compensation of their salespeople.

“What attracts salespeople to work for these leading organizations is their outstanding cultures, their commitment to diversity, and their steady support of the sales team by servant leadership and the introduction of process-improving technologies.

“All of this, combined, provides meaningful work environments that offer unlimited opportunities to win. These companies aim at a higher level of professionalism and trust, which in turn leads to increased sales and a lower turnover of the sales force.”

Selling Power has ranked the best companies to sell for in the United States for 24 years.

This is the 21st consecutive year for UniFirst, based in Wilmington, Massachusetts, to be on the list.

“We’re proud to be included on Selling Power’s list, which further validates our world-class sales organization and people who always deliver solutions that meet the unique needs of customers,” says David Katz, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at UniFirst.

“Our sales culture is focused on award-winning professional training and advanced sales enablement tools that help transform our team into true uniform experts and trusted advisors.”

UniFirst serves more than half of the Fortune 500 companies, outfitting more than 2 million uniform wearers across North America.

The company has also garnered accolades including Glassdoor’s “25 Best Companies for Career Opportunities” and Forbes’ “America’s Best Large Employers,” and Newsweek’s list of “Best Customer Service Providers,” among others.

“Our unique culture is guided by our founding Core Values: Customer Focus, Respect for Others, and Commitment to Quality that permeates our entire organization,” says Catalina Dongo, UniFirst senior vice president of human resources.

“We not only offer sales professionals competitive total compensation packages and benefits but also provide a nurturing environment with limitless potential for growth. This approach ensures that we attract and retain highly skilled and diverse sales professionals who thrive in a culture of service and empowerment.”

Cincinnati-based Cintas has earned placement on the industry publication’s list for 19 consecutive years.

“We have built a highly successful, customer-focused organization that fosters talented sales representatives across our company,” says Josh Hazen, senior vice president of rental field sales at Cintas.

“Our comprehensive training and development programs prepare our employee-partners for successful sales careers and offer boundless opportunities for advancement within our organization.

“Many of our company’s senior executives and leaders have risen through successful sales careers and show our employee-partners what is possible in their careers.”

This is the seventh consecutive year that Prudential, based in Irvine, California, has been recognized on this list.

Family-owned and operated since 1932, the company says it is committed to enhancing its customers’ image at the best dollar value. By providing premium quality work wear and safety uniforms, career apparel and casual wear, cleanroom garments and related services, Prudential can outfit entire organizations.

The company is certified Clean Green and has ISO 9001:2015 certifications, providing on-time, weekly service that also addresses facility image and safety requirements by offering floor mats, wiping towels and facility products throughout the United States.

To assemble this year’s 60 Best list, Selling Power’s research team created a thorough application where they gathered data across five key areas:

  • Company Overview
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Hiring, Sales Training & Sales Enablement
  • Commitment to Fostering Diversity and Inclusion
  • AI Incorporation into Improving Sales Processes

Companies were ranked in each of the categories to determine the final list. The methodology is the product of years of research, and Selling Power continues to revise and refine the approach each year.
