CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — Metro Laundry Service, located here, was recently awarded the Governor’s Citation Award by the Maryland Governor’s Office of Small Minority & Women Business Affairs.
This marks the first time Metro has received this honor, which recognizes the company and its leadership for outstanding contributions to the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) small-business community in Maryland.
“We are incredibly honored to receive the Governor’s Citation Award,” says Steven Young, COO of Metro Laundry Service, who attended the June 10 ceremony at the MGM National Harbor, a longtime client of the company.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our entire team and our long-standing commitment to strengthening the small- and minority-owned business community in Maryland through job creation and collaboration. We are proud to contribute to the economic vitality of our state.”
The Governor’s Citation Award celebrates Metro’s longevity as a certified MBE within the state and its impactful initiatives related to job creation and the proactive utilization of other MBE companies within the community.
The honor acknowledges the collective efforts of the entire Metro organization in fostering a vibrant and inclusive business ecosystem.
The event, hosted by the Maryland Governor’s Office of Small Minority & Women Business Affairs, underscores the state’s dedication to recognizing businesses that significantly enhance its economic landscape.
