MAUMEE, Ohio — Spartan Chemical Company Inc., a provider of sustainable cleaning and sanitation solutions for the industrial and institutional market, reports it has been named a Safer Choice Partner of the Year for 2024.
This recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) celebrates Spartan’s commitment to the Safer Choice product certification program and its continued dedication to protecting the health of people and the environment.
Since 2008, Spartan Chemical has partnered with the Safer Choice program to emphasize its responsibility toward environmental sustainability and product safety.
With a diverse portfolio of sixteen Safer Choice-certified products and two Design for the Environment (DfE) certified disinfectants, Spartan says it has shown a steadfast commitment to offering solutions that align with the highest standards of safety and stewardship.
“This recognition is a testament to our core values and the dedication of our team members at all levels,” says John Swigart, president of Spartan Chemical.
“We always strive to formulate products that provide excellent results while having minimal impact on people and the environment. This recognition is a pretty clear indication we’re moving in the right direction.”
Spartan says it has been a true pioneer in the sustainability movement from its onset.
At the beginning of the “green” movement, many chemical companies began removing key ingredients from their products to promote them as “green.” The company says it took a different approach and focused on not only the sustainability of its products but also on performance and created entirely new lines of sustainable products focused on indoor air quality and healthy buildings.
Spartan says its “efforts transcend their products.” The company actively contributes to sustainability by taking action in its manufacturing process, promoting recycling and recycled packaging materials, implementing water and energy conservation strategies in its operations, and staying active in industry and government organizations.
