KENNER, La. — Commercial laundry equipment manufacturer Pellerin Milnor Corp. reports that retired vice president Michael P. Dineen died May 15.
He was 82.
A graduate of Pius XI High School and the University of St. Thomas, Dineen dedicated over 50 years of his professional career to the textile maintenance industry, including over 30 years to Pellerin Milnor Corp.
The company says his unique talent for fostering genuine relationships made him a well-known and respected name throughout the industry.
Dineen was a transformative figure and devoted his career to innovation, leadership and service. Beginning as an intern with American Linen Supply in Minneapolis, he went on to hold influential leadership roles that shaped the industry’s direction. He served as vice president of Ludell Manufacturing Co. from 1962-1984 and director of marketing for Washex Corp. from 1984-1986.
He then joined Milnor as director of marketing for large laundry systems. His success in this position and strength in developing relationships with his peers led to his quick promotion to vice president.
He retired in 2017 but the lasting connections he formed remained of utmost importance, the company shares.
Beyond corporate leadership, Dineen gave tirelessly to industry associations, serving as director for ARTA and TRSA and committee chairman for TRSA, UTSA, TCATA and SWLA.
He was honored with TRSA’s Maglin/Biggie Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993 and IAHTM’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. He was also recognized for his career longevity with TRSA’s 50 Years of Service Award.
Pellerin Milnor Corp. says his legacy is one of a profound commitment to the betterment of the textile maintenance industry and community.
James W. Pellerin, president and CEO, reflected on his impact, saying, “Mike Dineen came to Milnor as a seasoned veteran, having designed and sold heat recovery systems throughout the country. As such, he possessed a vast knowledge of people and places, which helped us immensely.
“Mike created and nourished his personal relationships with decision-makers in our industry, retaining goodwill during his long career. Honesty and integrity were his calling cards. It was always a pleasure to be wherever Mike worked his charm.
“He will long be remembered with fondness and respect.”
In addition to his professional career, Dineen enjoyed spending time skiing, hiking, camping and river fishing. He was a dedicated and proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who spoke highly of all those he loved, Pellerin Milnor says.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne; children, Kerry (Matthew), Kevin (Erin), Brendan (Michelle) and Daniel (Kate); and eight grandchildren—all of whom he loved deeply.
Visitation and a funeral mass took place May 30 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Northbrook, Illinois.
