General Linen Service Acquires Lakes Region Linen

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — General Linen Service has acquired Lakes Region Linen of nearby Laconia, N.H., strengthening General Linen’s position as the largest independently owned linen and uniform service in New England for the healthcare and hospitality industries, the company says.
It also combines the strengths of both companies to enhance quality of services provided and deliver greater value to customers.
“It was imperative for us to align with a company capable of providing optimum customer service with the local touch our customers appreciate,” says Debbie Frawley Drake, president of Lakes Region Linen.  “General Linen Service and Lakes Region Linen are both independently run, family-owned businesses and share an exceptional commitment to customer and employee loyalty.”
“Combined, we have a tremendous amount of customer service experience and industry tenure,” says David Drolet, president of General Linen Service. “We are putting this to work to mutually ensure that customers will continue to receive the quality, personalized service they have enjoyed without interruption.”
Lakes Region Linen customers will benefit from General Linen Service’s wide selection of products and increased accessibility to emerging customer service technology such as paperless billing, an online customer portal, and handheld computers on routes.
Customers can also reduce their carbon footprint through General Linen Service’s Green Initiative — a series of programs aimed at significantly reducing waste and protecting the environment.
“Our steady growth has allowed General Linen Service to leverage the economies of scale to allow us to invest in creating one of the most modern, ecologically aware and cost-effective facilities in New England,” says Drolet. “Lakes Region Linen customers will gain some immediate benefits from our highly professional and efficient service teams and processes.”
