COLDWATER, Ohio — Future Polytech, a manufacturer of engineered flexible packaging solutions and packaging automation systems serving the commercial laundry, healthcare, industrial, and distribution markets, recently welcomed Ohio State Rep. Angie King, R-District 84, to its newly opened manufacturing facility here.
The visit stemmed from conversations at the recent TRSA Legislative Conference in Columbus, where Future Polytech met with members of King’s office to discuss manufacturing, workforce development, and issues affecting Ohio businesses.
The occasion celebrated the company’s continued investment in Ohio manufacturing, job creation and economic development.
The manufacturing facility officially began full operations in April following a significant investment to transform the former Accutech Films (Shields) site into a state-of-the-art flexible packaging manufacturing plant.
“Opening our Coldwater facility represents our commitment to investing in Ohio manufacturing, creating jobs, and serving our customers with American-made packaging solutions,” says Tony Durieux, CEO of Future Polytech. “We’re proud to welcome Representative King and share the impact this investment is making on our community.”

The Coldwater facility also represents an important economic success story for Mercer County, Ohio. Following the former plant’s closure, a WARN Act notification filed in October 2023 projected the loss of 59 jobs. Future Polytech invested more than $11 million to modernize and reopen the facility, creating a new chapter for manufacturing in the region.
That investment has translated directly into employment growth. Future Polytech employed more than 40 people at the end of 2024 and has since expanded to 64 employees, with continued plans for future growth as production increases.

It’s an investment in people, relationships, and the future of Ohio manufacturing.”
During her visit, King toured the new manufacturing operation, met with company leadership and employees, and learned about Future Polytech’s expanding capabilities in flexible packaging and automation solutions that serve diverse markets like commercial laundry, industrial, and distribution markets.
Future Polytech manufactures a broad portfolio of polyethylene bags, tubing, sheeting, shrink films, and specialty packaging products while serving as the exclusive distributor of Rennco and Maripak packaging automation systems for the commercial laundry industry.
