Survey Respondents Give Clean 2007 Mostly High Marks

CHICAGO — More than 80% of respondents to this month’s Wire survey attended Clean ’07 last month in glitzy Las Vegas, and a similar percentage said they were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their experience as a whole.
These attendees sought information about a variety of products and services, with more than 95% saying they had a specific plan for what they wanted to see at Clean or whom they wanted to visit while there.
Washer-extractors, dryers, feeders/folders and finishing equipment garnered the most attention, but at least 30% of respondents reported exploring offerings in several other categories during the four-day show.
Nearly 80% say they are more likely to

do business with a specific manufacturer, distributor or supplier because of their trip to Clean. Nearly 13% say they aren’t, and approximately 8% are unsure.
Most respondents attended the event on Monday (91.7%) and Tuesday (87.5%). The percentage started to decline on Wednesday (75%), and less than half of respondents (41.7%) attended on Thursday.
Respondents were asked to rank several aspects of the show, with 1 representing “Very Dissatisfied” and 10 representing “Very Satisfied.” The options for after-hours activities earned the best mark, with an 8.59 rating average. The quantity of exhibitors, the quality of exhibitors, the convention center, hotel accommodations and transportation options to/from the show all averaged at least 8.08. Only slightly lower were the average satisfaction ratings for networking opportunities (7.87) and the ease in locating event information (7.67). The educational sessions drew the lowest average rating at 6.8. Forty percent of respondents gave them a mark of 5 or less.
Those respondents who didn’t attend Clean this year most often cited budgetary concerns as the reason. Smaller percentages deemed past show experience to be sufficient or couldn’t attend because the show didn’t fall on a weekend.
With New Orleans slated to host Clean ’09, nearly 68% say they plan to attend and/or send someone from their staff, while less than 8% say they won’t. The remaining 25% are undecided.
