Laundry Equipment Providers Offer Disaster Relief

Continental Girbau, Skyline Equipment team up to assist; Laundrylux launches disaster relief program

OSHKOSH, Wis., and INWOOD, N.Y. — Laundry equipment manufacturers and distributors have created disaster relief programs to aid operations that have been affected by hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Continental Girbau Inc., an equipment manufacturer, and its Houston-based distributor Skyline Equipment Inc. have teamed up for Harvey relief efforts.

Also, Laundrylux, the U.S. supplier of Electrolux and Wascomat equipment, has launched a Disaster Relief Program for laundry operations impacted by the hurricanes.

CONTINENTAL, SKYLINE PARTNER FOR HARVEY RELIEF

Continental and Skyline’s disaster relief initiative includes special equipment financing and rental programs, as well as quick equipment and parts replacement, according to Continental President Mike Floyd.

His company has dedicated a page on its website—www.cgilaundry.com/disaster-relief.html—to Hurricane Harvey relief details and recovery tips.

“Working together, Continental and Skyline Equipment have secured additional warehouse space in Houston, managed by Continental, for surplus equipment and parts inventory,” says Floyd. The joint relief program also encompasses special financing on all Continental, LG, Econ-O and Girbau Industrial on-premises and vended laundry equipment.

Locally in Houston, Skyline Equipment is fielding inquiries and working to quickly prepare equipment replacement quotes, assist customers and insurers, and perform installations.

“CNN is reporting that 80% of Hurricane Harvey victims, including businesses, do not have flood insurance,” says Floyd. “Yet the majority of the damage is flood-related. That means many of our Texas customers face devastation and must dig deep to get their laundry operations up and running again. We hope that our special, full-service equipment rental program, and prompt equipment and parts replacement, will ease that burden.”

LAUNDRYLUX LAUNCHES DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM

Laundrylux says it knows, firsthand, how destructive a hurricane can be, having suffered through Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

“We had employees and customers who lost their homes and businesses, and were completely devastated by Sandy for a long time,” says John Sabino, president of Laundrylux.

That’s why it was so important for Laundrylux to launch its Disaster Relief Program for on-premises laundry facilities, Laundromats and apartment buildings affected by these devastating hurricanes, the company says.

“All of us at Laundrylux send our support to the people in Texas. We want to do our part to help during this extremely difficult time," Sabino says. "We are working hand-in-hand with our distributors in the areas hit by Hurricane Harvey to make it as affordable as possible for laundries to get back up and running as quickly as possible. We are also praying for Florida, and our hearts go out to the people in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. It’s all about community and supporting each other, that’s our number one priority right now.”

Laundrylux’s disaster relief program includes no payments for six months with 0% interest rate options on Electrolux and Wascomat commercial laundry equipment. Laundrylux is also waiving all fees to help laundry owners get back in business.

“We have our Response Team in Texas reaching out to customers to see how we can help,” says John Olsen, senior vice president of sales for Laundrylux. “We are making sure we have the boots on the ground and financing necessary to help restore businesses as fast as possible. We’ve experienced how traumatic it is for our customers and friends to have their livelihoods destroyed, and we know this disaster relief program can make a difference in people’s lives.”

Those in need of replacement equipment, parts or financing, should call 800-645-2204 or e-mail [email protected].
