Finishing Equipment at Top of Clean Attendees' Want-To-See List

CHICAGO — Nearly 60% of respondents to February’s Wire survey say they plan to attend Clean ’07 in Las Vegas, while another 33% aren’t sure at this point.
Only 8.3% of those responding to American Laundry News’ unscientific survey say they will not attend the biennial event slated for June 11-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Among those making the trip, 36.4% most want to see finishing equipment – ironers, folders, stackers, tunnel finishers, etc. – that will be on exhibit. Washroom equipment (washer-extractors, continuous-batch washers, etc.) and apparel each garnered attention from roughly 18% of those surveyed.
There was less but still notable interest in dryers, material-handling equipment and linens.
The Clean Show traditionally offers a slate of educational sessions to attendees. Survey respondents were invited to pick no more than three sessions that interested them. Ranking first was New Technology in the Laundry Industry, followed closely by Hotel and Motel Laundry Cost Factors.
Other sessions that were selected by at least 30% of respondents were Benchmark Data and Laundry Applications, Utility Savings and Management, and Is Productivity Tracking Worth It?
Clean ’07 will be a four-day event, and 45.5% of respondents plan to spend two days there. Another 36.4% plan to attend each of the four days, while roughly 18% will be there for three days. No one who responded to the survey is planning only a day’s visit.
