SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Tingue, Brown & Co., a family-owned/managed supplier of aftermarket parts and supplies for the industrial laundry industry, reports that John Tingue has joined the management team of its Tingue division.
He will serve as a regional sales manager, overseeing Tingue’s business in the northern United States, from Indiana west.
He represents his family’s fifth generation to join the 123-year-old company.
David Tingue, John’s father and company CEO, says, “I am incredibly proud to see John join us as a fifth-generation manager. His passion, dedication and fresh perspective will undoubtedly strengthen our family’s legacy and drive our business forward.
“It’s a special moment for our family, and I am excited to see how John continues to honor and build upon the values that have guided us for generations.”
Before stepping into management, John successfully ran the Chicago-based sales territory, acquiring grassroots knowledge and insights into the industry that is the heartbeat of the family business.
His previous experience was with Hulu (a Disney company) and Twitch (an Amazon company) in marketing and tech sales—experience that will serve Tingue well, the company says, as it digitalizes its sales channels via its online e-commerce platform.
He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in media policy.
“John’s appreciation for the relationship-based sales model that has made our company so successful is evidenced by his quick learning and success in a sales territory,” says Ty Acton, president of Tingue. “Having earned the respect of his peers and customers, it was the opportune time to parlay John’s experience with the company’s management needs as well as our digital transformation plans.”
John Tingue has been attending and presenting at CSC, TRSA and WTSA events. He was recently asked to join the Midwest Textile Services Association Board of Directors, and he is scheduled to attend Part III of TRSA’s EMI program this summer.
He and his wife, Hannah, live in the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Ill.
