Creative Napkin Folds Can Enhance Restaurant Ambiance

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A napkin is a direct expression of a restaurant’s personality and creativity, says Milliken Table Linens, so it offers instruction in how folding a napkin in a special way can enhance the ambiance of a room and set the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
Milliken provides step-by-step directions, along with diagrams and photos, on its website for achieving unique napkin folds such as The Cardinal’s Hat or Lady Windermere’s Fan.
The Bird of Paradise design illustrated here is great for use around Halloween and early fall, Milliken says.
To create it, you:
• Fold the napkin in half and then in half again, horizontally.
• Fold the napkin in half diagonally, with points on the top and facing up.
• Fold the left and right sides down along the center line, turning their extended points under.
• Fold the points of bottom corners underneath and fold in half on the long end.
• Pull up the points and arrange the fabric on the table.
The napkin-folding section can be found at www.millikentablelinen.com under “Customer Support.”
Other designs with folding instructions include Arum Lily, Bishop’s Mitre, Bunny Rabbit, Candle, Clown’s Hat, Crown, Goblet Fan, Ice Cream Cone, Pyramid, Rose, Rosebud and the Peace Lily.
