Ecolab Ranked on Two ‘Global’ Lists

Company recognized for social responsibility, sustainability and management

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Ecolab has been named to the Corporate Knights 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index and has been recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of 2016’s World’s Most Admired Companies, the company reports.

The Corporate Knights 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World Index revealed its listing in January during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, says Ecolab.

Ecolab ranked 50 on the 2016 list, fourth highest among the 19 U.S.-based companies to make the list, according to the company.

Companies that make the Global 100 ranking are the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industrial sectors, selected from a group of 4,353 listed companies with a market capitalization greater than US$2 billion.

This is the second consecutive year for Ecolab to be named to the Corporate Knights index, according to the company.

Ecolab says it’s also the second consecutive year for the company to be named to Fortune Magazine’s World’s Most Admired Companies list.

Within the chemicals industry, Ecolab says it ranked third overall and first for social responsibility, quality of management and long-term investment value.

The World’s Most Admired Companies list is based on responses from thousands of survey participants, including executives, directors and analysts, who rate companies in their industries on nine criteria, the company reports.

The 2016 survey included a total of 652 companies from 30 countries. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to be listed as a World’s Most Admired Company.
