MINNEAPOLIS — Employees of G&K Services across four locations here and in St. Paul pledged nearly $153,000 during the company’s 2014 United Way workplace campaign, the company reports. G&K matched 110% of the donations, bringing the total contribution to the Greater Twin Cities United Way to more than $320,000, exceeding the previous year’s contribution by 15%.
“Once again, the G&K team stepped up to generously support our United Way workplace campaign,” says Ian Davis, G&K’s chief information officer and the executive sponsor of the company’s 2014 workplace campaign. “G&K’s employees continue to make a positive impact in our community, through both their financial generosity and their volunteerism throughout the year.”
Bob Poferl, United Way vice president of workplace, recognizes the generosity of G&K’s employees, saying that United Way will use the contributions from workers and the company for “programming that aids children and families in getting ahead so our entire community can thrive.”
