Voting for Annual ALM Awards Shifts Online

RICHMOND, Ky. — If you’re an Association for Linen Management (ALM) member who plans to vote for the 2011 Heywood Wiley Manager of the Year or Allied Tradesperson of the Year, the association’s two top awards, then get ready for some changes.
Voting for three finalists in each category has traditionally been conducted on site each year during ALM’s annual conference, but all voting for this year’s honors will be conducted online. An independent committee will select the finalists.
Information about the finalists for both awards will be posted on the ALM home page in the members-only section by March 28, and ALM regular members will have the opportunity to cast their single votes through April 15. Voting instructions will be distributed prior to the open of voting.
Nomination forms and portfolios are due at the ALM office by March 7.
The two winners will be announced at ALM’s awards banquet this summer in Las Vegas, site of the Clean Show.
Heywood Wiley founded ALM in 1939 “to provide a network for the flow of information among its members leading toward their professional development and the advancement of the technologies they employ,” according to the association’s website.
The non-profit association’s target markets include the healthcare, hospitality, corrections and institutional segments.
