UniMac Displays Humorous New Uses for Old Dryers

RIPON, Wis. — UniMac has taken “green” thinking in a fun, new direction by launching a website to promote what it calls the “Tumbler Re-Use Project.”
The site, which can be seen here, offers laundry managers and general managers of hotels and other properties humorous suggestions on how to “repurpose” their old, inefficient drying tumblers after replacing them with newer models. “Get creative and think outside the cylinder, err, box,” the site urges.
The site lists alternate uses for the old dryers, such as soda cooler, backyard fire pit, giant minnow bucket, and more. The suggestions include descriptions and links to videos of people using old UniMac dryers in the ways listed.
“While the Tumbler Re-Use Project is intended to be fun, we hope it also gets people thinking seriously about their dryers’ efficiency,” says Kim Shady, vice president of distributor sales for UniMac. “That old dryer may still be running, but if it’s 10 or more years old, it’s probably costing you more in utility consumption than it’s worth.”
