Two Laundry Operations Join Healthcare Linen Alliance

Additions increase Alliance’s reach throughout New York State, Mid-Atlantic region

DUBOIS, Pa. — Century Linen & Uniform and Up To Date Laundry have joined the Healthcare Linen Alliance (HLA), the Alliance reports. These additions significantly increase the reach and service coverage area of HLA.

Century Linen & Uniform was founded more than 100 years ago and serves the Northeast region of the United States, HLA shares. With processing facilities in New York State, the company is locally owned and operated. Focused on service and technology, Century utilizes mobile handheld devices and incorporates RFID technology for streamlined tracking and reporting. Century Linen & Uniform provides services to healthcare providers as well as hospitality and industrial customers throughout the region.

Up To Date Laundry is one of the largest healthcare laundries on the East Coast and has been serving its community for more than 72 years, says HLA. Founded in Baltimore in 1946, the company offers rental and customer-owned-goods processing of nearly 60 million pounds for healthcare providers every year. The Up To Date facility is HLAC (Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council) certified, TRSA Clean Green certified and Hygienically Clean Certified. Up To Date is one of the largest woman-owned businesses in the Baltimore area with a service reach across the greater Mid-Atlantic region, including Delaware, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and the panhandle of West Virginia.

The Healthcare Linen Alliance includes Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service, Emerald Textiles, Logan’s Healthcare Linen Systems, Paris Healthcare Linen Services, Superior Health Linens and Textile Care Services. The group serves a large area covering Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Southern California, Tennessee, Texas, Washington State, West Virginia and Wisconsin, as well as Canada. 

HLA says it serves more than 120,000 hospitals daily and more than 1,800 customers.
