TRSA Recognizes Winners of Industry Awards

40 awards, accolades to be given during Legislative Conference

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — TRSA, the association for linen, uniform and facility services, says that 40 awards and accolades are to be given to members for going above the call of duty in 2021-2022.

“It was humbling to see the abundance of nominations that were submitted to be recognized by our association,” says Joseph Ricci, TRSA president and CEO. “I am very excited for some of our members to be recognized for all of their hard work.”

TRSA Industry Awards will be presented at a dinner at the Legislative Conference, March 30-31, at Westin Alexandria Old Town.

TRSA BEST PLANT OF THE YEAR

The Unitex Healthcare Laundry Services facility in Linden, New Jersey, will be honored as the 2022 winner of the TRSA Best Plant of the Year award.

Opened in 2016, the 67,000-square-foot facility employs about 200 full-time equivalent employees, producing nearly 140,000 laundry pounds, serving 26 to 28 routes, operating seven days a week.

The Hygienically Clean Healthcare certified operation uses a variety of indicators to measure performance: profitability, energy use (1441 Btu/pound), turnover (53%), safety (4.1% days away, job restriction, transfer rate [DART]) and the heavily tracked pounds per operator hour (POH, 213), calculated by using clean pounds shipped divided by total production hours, excluding maintenance and drivers.

Customer satisfaction is ensured through daily and weekly activities including data analytics, rounds with end users, surveys, quality fulfillment rate review and educational initiatives. Maintenance hours are 22% reactive and 78% preventive.
