TRSA Posts Confined-Spaces Manual on Safety Website

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) has posted a Permit-Required Confined Spaces (PRCS) Policies and Procedures Manual, the third in a series of safety manuals designed to help the textile services industry enhance workplace safety, at www.safetrsa.org.
The manual helps industry members develop policies, procedures and training materials in accordance with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) PRCS regulation (29 CFR 1910.146).
The PRCS Policies and Procedures Manual is part of SafeTRSA, the industry’s safety initiative overseen by the joint TRSA and Uniform Textile Service Association (UTSA) Safety Committee.
The PRCS Policy and Procedures Manual is divided into four sections. The first section includes a 23-page, industry-specific PRCS policies and procedures program, which is designed to be easily customized to fit a textile service company’s specific operations. The second section includes two confined-space PowerPoint training presentations: one to train affected employees, attendants and entry supervisors and one to train authorized entrants. The third section is comprised of 12 forms and documents that supplement the development, implementation and documentation requirements for OSHA’s PRCS standard. The fourth section includes reference documents developed by OSHA that pertain to confined spaces.
All information on the SafeTRSA website is available at no cost as part of the association’s ongoing commitment to assist the industry in enhancing workplace safety and protecting employees, the association says.
