TRSA Offers Special Tour of European Laundry Facilities

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Textile service operators already planning to attend this spring’s Texcare International in Frankfurt, Germany, may want to extend their stay to take advantage of a unique opportunity presented by the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA).
For those not yet sold on making the trip for the European trade show, TRSA has added incentive by organizing a six-day tour of what it describes as some of the top laundries in Western Europe.
European laundries have often been at the forefront of automation advances due to historically high labor and production costs there, TRSA says.
The TRSA European Tour is set to begin following Texcare, which runs May 31-June 4 in Frankfurt. The tour will take attendees from Frankfurt on June 5 down to southwestern Germany, where they will see Zischka, a new $25 million healthcare textile plant. The day will conclude with a visit to an automated hospitality plant serving the area around the U.S. Air Force base in Ramstein.
The June 6 agenda includes stops at three facilities — an industrial laundry and two flatwork facilities — from Strasbourg, France, to Geneva. Attendees will have a free day in Geneva on June 7 before traveling to the Champagne region of France to continue the tours on June 9.
Visits scheduled for that day include Elis’ new, highly automated garment plant in Nancy, France, and another high-tech facility in Blois, France. The final day of tours, June 10, will include a visit to a modern flatwork facility in Cedex, France, and wrap at Magic Rambo, the Elis-owned laundry serving Disneyland Resort Paris.
The tour package will include transportation, accommodations and meals (except meals on June 7), during the June 5-10 event; attendees are responsible for their own travel arrangements from/to the United States. For those who can’t attend the complete tour, credit is available for excluded days.
