Textile Care Association Execs Pay Visit to Colombiatex

Attend Latin America trade show to explore region’s growing laundry, drycleaning needs

MEDELLIN, Colombia — David Cotter, CEO of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association (TCATA), and Brian Wallace, president/CEO of the Coin Laundry Association (CLA), recently attended the Colombiatex trade show here to promote the Clean Show and to determine ways to assist American manufacturers wishing to export to Latin America.

The executives toured industrial laundry and drycleaning plants, met with Colombiatex organizers, and gathered important information about the laundry and drycleaning market in that region, TCATA says.

The industrial laundry market in Colombia and elsewhere in Latin America is growing and the need for machinery and machinery support is “significant,” the association reports. Also, demographic and cultural changes—including the changing role of women, with many moving out of poverty—will result in an increasing demand for laundry and drycleaning services.
