TCATA Conference Connects People, Ideas

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – Those planning to attend next month’s Textile Care Allied Trades Association’s (TCATA) Annual Management and Educational Conference should take note of some important deadlines coming up in the next few days, TCATA says.
“Connecting Great People and Great Ideas” is the theme for the TCATA event slated for April 30 through May 3 in Austin, Texas.
Attendees must reserve their hotel rooms at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort in Austin by Saturday to ensure they receive the conference rate.
Sunday is the deadline to register for the conference at discounted rates. Registrations received by Sunday will cost $675 for TCATA members and $295 for spouses. Those received after Sunday will cost $725 and $345, respectively.
Scheduled speakers for the business program include the following:
• Dr. James Chan, founder of Asia Marketing & Management, will address how companies can improve and prosper in doing business with Asian companies and in Asia, with particular emphasis on China. Chan will answer specific questions submitted by attendees prior to the meeting.
• Jeff VanKooten of The Center for Generational Studies will address the challenges of working with different generations in the workplace. In a presentation titled From Newspaper Ads to Jobs.com – Recruitment and Retention in the New Millennium, he’ll provide attendees with practical tools for dealing with the different values and work expectations of younger generations.
• Dr. Randall Peeters, an accomplished businessman and adventurer, will show attendees how to take a fresh look at their lives with a goal of building a personal vision.
The conference will also feature networking opportunities, including a golf tournament and the annual Young Timers Party. Tuesday is the deadline to register to play in the golf tournament.
This year’s spouse program on May 2 will include a tour of the highlights of downtown Austin, Whole Foods Market and the Bob Bullock Museum. Space restrictions limit the program to 32 participants.
Full conference details, including information about how to register, are available at the TCATA website – www.tcata.org.
