Superior Uniform Group Customer Hilton Santa Fe Wins Image of the Year Award

SEMINOLE, Fla. — Hilton Santa Fe, a Superior Uniform Group Inc. customer, recently won a National Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) Image of the Year (IOY) Award.
The IOY awards recognize leaders in the corporate uniform and image apparel industry. Judges evaluate each submission on overall design excellence; harmonious design within the environment; innovativeness; effectiveness in meeting the image goals of the end-user; and innovative use of fabric, design and accessories to build an image fitting the corporation’s needs.
Superior Uniform Group’s apparel program for Hilton Santa Fe at Buffalo Thunder, N.M.,  won in the Hotels — Single Location category. The program includes apparel for the bellmen, doormen, front-desk staff and guestroom attendants. Superior Uniform Group’s designers collaborated with the hotel and the head of the Pueblo of Pojoaque to recapture the flavor of the Native American Pojoaque heritage, according to the company.
“Winning the 2009 IOY Award in the ‘hotels’ category is a great honor,” says Richard Ross, director of sales and marketing for Hilton Santa Fe. “For Hilton, Buffalo Thunder represented an opportunity to infuse our legendary hospitality with the Pueblo of Pojoaque’s amazing sense of vision and a desire to manifest their culture, art and history in the project. Working with Superior Uniform’s designers helped us establish storytelling opportunities with our guests and visitors through our uniforms.”
“Superior was honored to support Hilton Santa Fe at Buffalo Thunder in reaching their goals,” says Janice Henry, vice president of design for Superior Uniform Group. “Working together with both Hilton Hotels and the Pueblo of Pojoaque allowed our team to turn apparel into artwork. This unique and out-of-the-box concept was a true accomplishment and proved to be a winning design.”
