Struminger Receives TRSA's Highest Honor

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA) at its recent 95th Annual Meeting presented Donald Struminger, chairman of the board and CEO of Virginia Linen Service, with its highest honor, the Textile Rental Member Achievement Award.
“It was a total surprise,” says Struminger, whose Petersburg, Va., company has served Commonwealth of Virginia customers for more than 73 years. “I want to thank TRSA and the membership very, very much. It was a nice feeling to receive the award.”
Struminger served as association president in 1977-79 when it was called the Linen Supply Association of America (LSAA). He also has served as treasurer (1975-76) and on the TRSA/LSAA board of directors, as well as on various committees and special projects.
Struminger entered the industry in 1961 after serving in the U.S. Army. He still holds the record as the youngest person ever to hold the position of TRSA president (later renamed chairman) at the age of 39.
“I am extremely proud that Donald Struminger has been recognized by his industry peers with this award,” says TRSA President and CEO Roger Cocivera. “I can’t think of anyone who’s more deserving of this honor in light of his many years of outstanding leadership and contributions to TRSA and the industry. Donald sets a sky-high standard for others to follow.”
Struminger’s son, David, president of Virginia Linen Service, is continuing his father’s tradition of leadership. He was elected in June 2005 to a three-year term on TRSA’s board.
