Prestige Industries, Carnegie Linen Fail to Reach Agreement

Carnegie to remain in hospitality linen business, says owner

NEW YORK — Both Prestige Industries and Carnegie Linen report that Prestige no longer plans to acquire Carnegie’s hospitality customers, which had been announced earlier this year.

Carnegie says that it will now continue to grow its linen business.

Gary Perlson, president of Carnegie Linen, says, “We will continue to invest heavily in our linen operation in order to provide Carnegie customers with the level of service they have come to expect over the last 20 years and will continue to furnish improved services and performance for many years to come.”

In January, Carnegie announced that Prestige would be assuming the servicing of all Carnegie Linen hospitality linen accounts as part of Carnegie’s plan to re-focus on its core valet business.

Prestige says that the company and Carnegie were unable to reach final agreement on the planned transaction.
