MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Wholesale bedding manufacturer Northern Linens, based here, has expanded its private-label and custom bedding manufacturing for hospitality, healthcare, and retail buyers across Canada and the United States.
The expansion adds private-label production capacity, additional stocked core lines held at the company’s warehouses in both countries, and broader customization across thread count, sizing, trims, and retail-ready packaging.
Northern Linens is a manufacturer rather than a distributor, and controls production from yarn acquisition through to finished packaging. The company says that distinction is the basis of the Private-Label Bedding Manufacturing program, because thread count, sizing, and finish are held constant from the first order to the 50th rather than depending on what an overseas factory has available in a given month.
Under the expanded program, retailers and home brands set the colors, sizes, trims, thread counts, fabric composition, fill weights and barcodes, and packaging is built to their branding.
Fabric sourcing, production, quality checks, labeling and retail-ready packaging are handled in the company’s facility. The approved spec sheet is kept on file, so a second run matches the first without a further round of sampling. Runs start small enough to test a new range and scale once it sells.
“Most suppliers get the first shipment right. The trouble shows up on the third and the fourth,” says CEO Salman Rehan. “A slightly different white, an extra half-inch of shrinkage, a seam that sits wrong, and the room no longer matches the one the buyer signed off at handover.
"Nobody notices at the point of delivery. They notice when a guest is standing in it. Holding the spec on record and making the goods ourselves is the only way we know to stop that happening."
The manufactured range covers bed linen sets, duvets and duvet covers, comforters, pillows and pillowcases, decorative cushions, mattress protectors and pads, blankets and throws, bath towels, table linen, kitchen aprons, drapes, and hangers.
Products are specified for commercial rather than domestic use. Fitted sheets carry reinforced corner elastics and deeper pockets that hold on mattresses of 12 to 20 inches, before a topper or protector is layered underneath.
Fabric is selected for how it survives industrial laundering rather than how it presents in a showroom, and products are built to hold shape, color, and fit through repeated commercial wash cycles rather than through a single one.
Northern Linens supplies hotels, resorts and boutique properties, long-term care and healthcare facilities, short-term rental and serviced apartment operators, student residences and staff accommodation, and retailers and distributors across North America.
