National Linen Does About-Face on S.C. Plant

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — National Linen & Uniform Service has unexpectedly reversed a decision to consolidate its North Charleston operations with a plant in Savannah, Ga., The Post and Courier of Charleston reported Monday.
North Charleston’s 86 employees were to have been laid off this weekend. A spokesman from parent company National Service Industries confirmed the plant would remain open, but the company didn’t elaborate further, the newspaper said.
