Maytag HE Front Loaders Cut Utilities up to 60%, Clean Better, Tests Report

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Recent lab tests determined that Maytag Commercial Laundry High Efficiency (HE) front-load washers cut utility costs up to 60% and clean better than the competition, the company says.
The tests, performed in an approved testing facility to the American Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) HLW1-2006 laundry industry standard, concluded that the washer achieves superior cleaning performance while providing energy savings.
“The wash performance tests show Maytag Commercial Laundry’s dedication to providing users with the cleaning performance they deserve,” says Craig Kirchner, director of global commercial laundry at Whirlpool Corp., Maytag’s parent company. “By delivering superior cleaning and industry-leading energy savings, these machines live up to the Maytag brand name of quality and dependability.”
The front-load washer was launched in June to help coin store, multi-housing and small on-premise locations save on laundry utility costs without compromising cleaning performance. The HE washers are also the first commercial laundry single-load washers to be ENERGY STAR- and CEE Tier III-qualified, Maytag claims.
AHAM is a not-for-profit trade association representing manufacturers of major and portable home appliances, floor care appliances and suppliers to the industry.
