Magazine Selects ‘Panel of Experts’ for 2009

CHICAGO — American Laundry News has selected its “Panel of Experts” for 2009. The esteemed group will represent the many segments of the textile services industry in answering questions for the monthly trade journal. The 2009 Panel includes:HEALTHCARE LAUNDERING
Bob Pfeifer, district manager east, Sodexo Laundry Services, Lansing, Mich., has 25 years of industry experience, including 21 with Sodexo. He’s managed in every capacity from supervisor to his current role running part of East Coast operations. He serves on the boards of directors for the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) and the American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA).LONG-TERM CARE LAUNDERING
Albert J. Raymond, regional group manager, Healthcare Services Group (HCSG), Bensalem, Pa., handles corporate objectives and quality assurance for HCSG with 63 facilities in six states. He’s been associated with the long-term care administration programs at Slippery Rock University and Marywood University for the past 16 years.LINEN SUPPLY/COMMERCIAL LAUNDRY
Duane Farrington II, RLLD, Hancock County Laundry, Weirton, W.Va., has 25 years of industry experience and has spent the last 10 years managing a commercial laundry. He’s president of the Association for Linen Management’s (ALM) Western Pennsylvania chapter, and has been named the chapter’s manager of the year.EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING
Dan Goldman, national sales manager, Wascomat Laundry Equipment, Inwood, N.Y., has 29 years of industry experience. He was educated at the State University of New York at Cortland and taught at the high school level for two years before entering the fabricare industry.CHEMICALS MANUFACTURING
Rhonda Amendt, laboratory director, U.N.X. Inc., Greenville, N.C., has 13 years of experience at U.N.X., where she formulates chemicals in addition to researching and developing products. Her job involves traveling to sites to troubleshoot, analyze and improve the efficiency of laundry facilities.CONSULTING SERVICES
Tom Mara, consultant, Victor Kramer Co., Oceanport, N.J., has 36 years of experience, including 24 as the consulting firm’s president. He recently retired to assume a part-time role with the company, which he sold to Crothall Laundry Services in 2001.TEXTILES
Elizabeth P. Easter, Ph.D., professor, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky., has conducted research, and presented and published papers, in the area of laundry fundamentals. Her experience ranges from basic research in the development of detergent formulations to applied research. She manages the university’s Textile Testing Laboratory that she established in 1988, and also works as a textile consultant.EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES DISTRIBUTION
William J. (Bill) Blumel, vice president and general manager, Reliable Equipment & Engineering, Ogden, Utah, joined the distributor in January 2008 after having spent more than 24 years with equipment manufacturer G.A. Braun, where he last served as sales administration manager and hospitality specialist.
