LINCOLN, N.C. — The Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA) has named Leonard Automatics Inc. Lincoln County, N.C.’s 2008 Industry of the Year. This award promotes and highlights the contributions and exemplary corporate citizenship of existing industry in Lincoln County, LEDA says.
The award is based on four criteria. First, the business must have made a positive impact in Lincoln County within the last year. Second, the industry must be involved with the Lincoln community through direct contributions of finances, time and/or other resources. Next, the business must be a leader in its field and have produced a positive performance during its most recent fiscal year. Finally, the industry must maintain the highest standards of conduct in working with the community, government, other businesses and its own employees.
Leonard Automatics has called Lincoln County home for 39 years and given generous financial support to the community, benefiting organizations such as the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, North Lincoln High School, and the North Lincoln marching band and drama department, as well as a number of Lincoln County agencies, LEDA says. Leonard Automatics employees have given countless hours of time to community service.
Leonard Automatics has also demonstrated strong business performance with an increase in sales every year, and it recently completed a new facility and equipment expansion in the Balsom Ridge Industrial Park in Denver.

Congratulations.”
LEDA is a private, 501c(3) nonprofit corporation charged with facilitating industrial, office and commercial development in Lincoln and Lincoln County. Its mission is to foster an economic environment that promotes an increased tax base and enhances the area’s standard of living by creating better jobs for its citizens.
