Kemco Systems Hires Vergo as CFO

New chief financial officer says she believes accounting is ‘team sport’

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Kemco Systems, a global water and energy technology company, reports it has hired Joanie Vergo as its chief financial officer.

Vergo is a graduate of the University of Tampa holding Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from West Virginia University. 

Kemco says her 10-plus years of experience includes time at PwC, as well as significant practice in retail, retail manufacturing/distribution and the news media industries.

Most recently Vergo served as a controller for OttLite Technologies in Tampa, responsible for the full cycle of accounting processes and controls, performing extensive margin and operation expense analysis, and providing recommendations in formulation of sales and operational strategy. 

She believes that accounting is a “team sport” and that the finance department has a unique role in facilitating cross-departmental communication, collaboration and that its active contribution is necessary for an optimally functioning organization.

Vergo is from Rochester, N.Y., and resides in Tampa. She is a lifelong equestrian and enjoys satisfying her competitive spirit competing her show horse, Hunter, as well as living an active lifestyle by running and working out. She is also an avid college football fan and enjoys cheering for her beloved Mountaineers.
