Guardian Expands Production to Support New Divisions

COCOA, Fla. — Guardian Manufacturing Inc. is nearing completion of a 25,000-square-foot addition to its engineering and manufacturing facility here.
Primarily known as a control system integrator, manufacturing and process control consulting provider, Guardian’s new Integrated Services Division works with laundry industry markets to offer rental and sales packages for ozone laundry systems, ozone wastewater systems, ozone chemistry service programs and equipment service solutions.
Guardian moved into its current Cocoa facility in late 2006. Explosive customer demand has allowed the company to lease an adjacent building and break ground on the expansion project in less than two years, the company says. Guardian expects construction of the new building to be completed by the year’s end.
The expanded facility will house dedicated production areas for the company’s OEM ozone generation systems, integrated ozone systems, and production vacuum systems for the solar industry, as well as expanded engineering, storage and office spaces. The company is also considering exercising a purchase option on its leased space, which would increase its facilities’ total space to more than 60,000 square feet at this location.
Ten new jobs with an average wage of $55,000, including engineering and technical support for Guardian’s Integrated Services Division products, are being created with the expansion. The expansion will result in an economic new wage impact of $550,000 to Brevard County, and put the company at just under 100 employees with about $50 million in annual sales, the company reports. Guardian is making a capital investment of $1.2 million, including construction and personal property purchases to support the expansion.
