G&K Services Expands Salt Lake City Facility

SALT LAKE CITY — G&K Services recently expanded its facility here on the northwest side, adding 10,000 square feet of plant space, a 5,000-square-foot office build-out, and an acre of site expansion, according to ARCO/Murray National Construction Co.’s Laundry Division, Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., which oversaw the project.
The roof structure of the plant addition was designed to carry the load of overhead conveyance systems.
Site improvements included a clean dock, a soiled dock and a route truck dock. The site work also more than doubled the available car parking by expanding onto an adjacent lot owned by G&K. Expansion was facilitated through a subdivision process, included in ARCO/Murray’s project scope.
Construction took place during the latter part of 2009 while the plant remained in operation. The G&K staff was temporarily relocated into office trailers to facilitate the office build-out.
G&K began operating out of the newly expanded facility in February.
