Flatwork Finishing Equipment Maker Brings Clean to Customers Via Web

NEW ORLEANS — If you’re at the office or home and wishing you could be here for Clean ’09, Chicago Dryer Co. (Chicago®) is doing its best to bring its corner of the show to you.
At a special section of the company’s website (www.chidry.com/cleanshow09), a visitor can view an interactive version of Chicago’s booth map by clicking “Show Floor.”
Once there, visitors can click on any of several pieces of equipment currently on display in New Orleans, which opens a new page featuring product information and a gallery of photos and YouTube videos depicting the equipment in use during the show.
The company anticipated a smaller attendance than previous Clean Shows and wanted to find a way to quickly reach domestic and international customers who couldn’t be here, says Carol Tyler, Chicago’s marketing director.
“We’re able to bring what we’re doing here straight to them,” she says.
Another feature is a New Orleans map pointing out sites within a mile of the convention center that utilize Chicago equipment. Visitors can also follow developments in and around the booth via a “News from Clean Show” blog.
New at the show is Chicago’s Pik-Quik Jumbo with Cart Auto Tram (CAT) option. Laundries can now efficiently separate batches of up to 350 pounds per load, the company says. The Pik-Quik Jumbo’s oversized jaws and picking head and the large bin size create a higher pounds-per-minute picking rate and separate as much as 30% more linen per hour than the previous model.
The established Skyline Mini automatic folder is also on display, now with a new Triple Play option for up to three primary folds on large or specialty items, including healthcare, airline and hospitality blankets; pads; and other items.
