Cintas Board Chairman Kohlhepp to Retire

CEO and board member Farmer appointed to position

CINCINNATI — Robert J. Kohlhepp has informed the Cintas board of directors of his intention to retire as chairman effective Sept. 30, the company reports.

Cintas says Kohlhepp has served as chairman for seven years. He has been a member of the board since 1979, and served as vice chairman from 2003 to 2009.

Kohlhepp has had nearly 50 years of involvement with Cintas, according to the company. He joined Cintas in 1967 as controller and subsequently held positions of general manager, vice president and treasurer, executive vice president, president and chief executive officer.

“I thank Bob for the countless contributions he has made during his time with the company,” says Cintas CEO Scott Farmer. “Under Bob’s leadership of our board of directors, Cintas has thrived through challenging economic times and has emerged positioned for even greater success in the future.”

Farmer, who is also a board member, will be appointed chairman, according to Cintas. He joined the company in 1981 and held positions of vice president, a board member and COO. Farmer was elected CEO in 2003.
