ARTA to Host Green Summit in Quebec City

FAIRWAY, Kan. — The American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA) will host a Green Summit at the Chateau Frontenac Hotel in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, July 22-23. The meeting will include an overview of new life-cycle assessment research; information and tools designed to help market the benefits of reusable textiles; and information on how to enhance and measure the sustainability of a facility’s operations.
“Some might argue that ‘green’ is a trend, but legislative and consumer indicators show that the focus on sustainability is here to stay. Indeed, to remain competitive in the future, businesses will need to incorporate sustainable practices into operations and be able to verify those efforts,” says Steve Tinker, ARTA president. “The green era offers a unique opportunity for the textile services industry. We’ve been providing and supporting a green product — reusable textiles — for more than a century! The immediate challenge lies in quantifying the green benefits of reusable textiles and of our operations, and then marketing those benefits to our customers.”
The Green Summit is open to ARTA members and non-members, but space is limited, so early registration is recommended. In addition to education and networking opportunities, the summit will also feature supplier exhibits and sponsorship opportunities.
The cost for ARTA members is $495 by April 19 or $595 later. Non-members pay $595 before April 19 and $695 later.
The registration form is available at www.arta1.com. For more information, call Executive Director Nancy Jenkins at 863-660-5350.
