ALM Postpones IMPACT 2020 Conference Due to COVID-19

Alternate date to be announced no later than March 27

RICHMOND, Ky. — The Association for Linen Management (ALM) has announced through an e-mail release that it is postponing its IMPACT 2020 Conference, which was scheduled to take place March 23-25, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ALM says it made the decision to postpone the conference, which was to take place at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, in the best interest of the health of members, the public and association staff.

An alternate date for the conference will be announced no later than March 27.

“We know this is a worrying time for everyone; all of this has been unexpected and unprecedented and the situation seems to be fluid as it changes daily,” ALM says in the release.

“We encourage you to rely on the CDC as the official source for status updates and recommendations. We encourage gathering facts for making good decisions; rumors and panic are not the cornerstone of a reliable organization.”

The association says that all current conference registrations will be transferred to the new date when final. Details are available on ALM’s website at the 2020 IMPACT Conference page, and will be updated as more information is gathered.

Sponsors and presenters will be contacted separately when more information is confirmed.

ALM is also encouraging those who had planned to attend the conference to cancel travel arrangements, including flights and rental cars. The association is in contact with The Broadmoor to find out if all ALM block rooms will be cancelled automatically.

Visit ALM’s website for more information when available about the hotel cancellation process, as well as details about ALM’s cancellation policy adjustment for IMPACT registrations.

“We absolutely want to assure you we are available to answer any questions and help textile care professionals around the globe in any way we can and keep moving forward, crossing each bridge as we come to it,” adds ALM through the release.
