Alliance Laundry Systems to Acquire Distributor CLEC

Florida company among Southeast’s largest equipment distributors

RIPON, Wis. — Commercial laundry equipment manufacturer Alliance Laundry Systems reports it has reached an agreement to purchase distributor Commercial & Coin Laundry Equipment Co. (CLEC). The deal is expected to be finalized for closing in early March.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Gulf Breeze, Fla., CLEC recently expanded into the Texas market and stands as one of the largest commercial laundry equipment distributors in the Southeast region, Alliance says.

“We are delighted to partner with a best-in-class operator, whose energy, passion and leadership are natural complements to Alliance Laundry Systems,” says Mike Schoeb, Alliance CEO. “Furthermore, the laundry industry is undergoing a period of change and having a more direct presence makes sense in today’s market.”

CLEC has been serving the needs of commercial laundry customers since 1982. The company’s coverage area includes the Florida panhandle, Mississippi Gulf Coast, and parts of Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana.

In February 2018, the company purchased Texas Laundry Service Co., adding the greater Houston area to its territory. It was CLEC’s third acquisition in eight years.

“This sale truly is a win-win for not just both entities, but most importantly, for customers in the areas CLEC serves,” says Craig Dakauskas, president of CLEC. “Our team prides itself on a high level of service, and the ability to use the resources of a larger company like Alliance will ensure our capability remains unmatched.”
