AHE Presents 2020 Environmental Services Department Awards

Honorees made contributions to overall patient experience, achieving organizational mission

CHICAGO — The Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) of the American Hospital Association, together with sponsor Tork, a hygiene product supplier, has announced the recipients of the 2020 Environmental Services (EVS) Department of the Year Awards. 

This year’s recipients of the EVS Department of the Year Award are:         

  • 1-249 beds: Cohen Children’s Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York
  • 500+ beds: University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, Vermont

This year’s honorable mentions are:

  • 1-249 beds: Children’s Health Plano, Plano, Texas
  • 250-499 beds: CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina

The Environmental Services Department of the Year Award provides national recognition for the significant contributions made by an environmental services department to the overall patient experience and achieving a healthcare organization’s mission.

It highlights the outstanding achievements of a cutting-edge environmental services team in maintaining high levels of performance in cleaning, disinfecting, infection prevention, environmental sustainability and stewardship, technology use, patient satisfaction, education and training in critical areas.

All award recipients will be recognized in the September issue of Health Facilities Management magazine.
