Assists in hotel laundry daily operations and services. Directs and works with employees to wash, dry and iron linen Hotel and and Food and Beverage Department within existing delivery time frame. Maintains a safe, clean, and organzied work environment. Position strives to achieve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the department performance.
Work Activities:• Bi-Lingual : English & Spanish preferred.• Prepare work schedules for production employees.• Provide daily work assignments.• Monitor productivity records.• Ensure a safe working environment for employees.• Inform manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations.• Provide direct supervision to the laundry employees.• Plan daily responsibilities and follow ups.• Handle reports per laundry department.• Manage 50-75+ employees per shift.• Strong Communication skills.• Ability to lead a team and work as a team.• Control and stay organized in fast pace environment.• Ability to train employees according to department.• Meet daily goals set by upper management.• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the laundry department; verifes the quality, standardsand meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.• Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence• Communicates the importance of safety procedures, details procedure codes, verifies employeeunderstanding of safety codes, monitors processes and procedures related to safety.• Monitors workflow to minimize peaks and valleys in production.• Brings issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.• Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processescomply with laws, regulations, or standards.• Supervises daily Laundry shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standardsand procedures.• Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistentmessage regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.• Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions.• Maintains and uses effective back-up plans for breakdowns.• Implements new techniques, supplies and equipment.• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.• Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensuresemployees do the same within the team.
